Vol. 19 No. 3 (2026): March
Cover image by Dinghui Yang on pages 285-295. The image illustrates two major dissipation mechanisms associated with seismic wave propagation in tight oil and gas reservoirs. Due to the extremely small pores and throats, part of the pore fluid exhibits non-Darcy flow in connected pores. In addition, some fluid may be trapped in isolated pores, causing internal friction within the solid framework. By incorporating both non-Darcy flow and fractional viscoelasticity, the new seismic wave model provides an accurate description of wave propagation in tight reservoirs.
